98 Ranger 4wd issue

front axle does not engage, tcase switches over to 4 lo but only rear tires get power, I'm guessing the front output shaft isnt getting power (no brown wire mod on this vehicle, but it acts like it) is there a fuse for that? if so, where?

The 98's have those vacuum hubs that cause issues. There is a write up somewhere on how to modify the hubs so that they're locked in all the time making it a live axle. Or can go with AVM manual hub conversion if that is the issue. And they have a gear driven t-case E1354.

vac hubs? havent heard of that, but really never messed with rangers.... this is a friends truck, all stock. Where are the vac lines running from/to?
