I Have at '98 ford ranger 2wd bone stock what's the biggest tire size i can put on it with the stock suspension? and if the front was leveled what tire size? please help!
my 98 2wd doesnt have torsion bars, it uses coils....
also everyone here is talking 31s-33s yeah that might work on a 4x4 but the truck in question is a 2wd, they sit a lot lower than the 4x4s unless its an edge
...98 4x4's had the torsion..so did the edge, trailhead and sport, 4x4 and 4x2, but yes the stock 98 4x2 had coils...thanks for the heads up...sorry for answering my own question...
...if you do a search on here there is a tire size chart...
...here you go, i did some research for you do to my previous error...
98-02 regular 2wd with 15x7 = 225/70/R15 Stock
235/75/R15 Plus One size up
255/70/R15 or30x9.50/15 Plus Two size's up
265/75/15 or 31x10.50/15 Plus Three size's up
the 31x10.50x15 on a 15x7 wheel can be done though it will have minor rubbing...the other tire sizes are recommended with no rubbing on a totally stock 4x2...
...there are several inexpensive ways to lift your truck posted on this forum if you wish to do so...good luck...
31s. Trust me i have them on my '00 xlt 2wd and there is no rub whatsoever and i have stock suspension. get the 31s if you are planning on doing a spindle lift in the future. if not then 31s give the truck a beefier look on stock suspension. DO IT!!
