ground points on gem tested, so either the wire or the pin on the connecter. more testing to come.

ok, it appears to be the wire at the pin as when i was testing it gave way and broke. so im going to hack up the gem add a wire to reconnect this ground.

410Fortune thanks that is a much better wiring diagram than I was looking at. c280 pin13 is the one in question here.​

Ya clipping all 5 sensor wires at the GEM should disable door ajar completely. From 410s diagrams it looks like black white is the ground for the instrument cluster? Let us know what you find out.

so, with the ground wire fixed now the door ajar is permanently on whether that cable is connected or not. I ordered a used gem with all the connectors. The gem might be bad it looks like the caps leaked on the board there is rust all over it and my cleaning and scrubbing with a toothbrush and alcohol might have been its death sentence, without a schematic of it it's a lost cause to try and figure out what the deal is.

Will report back when I get a replacement and the new connector spliced in.

Sounded like a dead short in the gem from day one with 10.5v at a ground lead

Ok replacement gem received, new/used pig tail spliced in (that was a pita). Everything is working except the stupid washer pump but I can live with that.
