- 99 Explorer UQ XLT SOHC
Hey guys! Hope I'm posting this in the right spot. I've looked around and I may very well be blind but I couldn't find a specific answer to my question so I thought I'd just ask.
I have 2 99' Explorers:
09/99 SOHC XLT UQ Automatic (5 speed I believe?). VIN number has the "E".
04/99 OHV (No badge/unknown model) US Manual (5-speed). VIN number has the "X".
I was wondering if the manual from the OHV be swapped in to replace the automatic from the SOHC. Would it require a complete swap of the drivetrain? I'd assume the auto and manual differentials would have different ratios. I'm aware that there will be some electrical issues with the computer, but haven't had much luck finding any full details about what's involved.
Any and all help is appreciated!
Cheers.
