I have a question about my 99 sport 4.0 L OHV with 110,000 miles. I have only owned this for a year and rarely drive it. I had the transmission serviced at the dealer last year (4000 mile ago). They changed fluid, filter and did a flush. I asked them to check its operation and they did not try to take me for 2 grand so maybe its OK.
Since I have no reference I don't know what normal shifting on this vehicle is. I notice that my shift from first to second, second to third are quick and solid. The shift to fourth seems to be less sharp. It seems much like the shift into OD, with a little more drawn out. I see no RPM jumps or other problems just wondering what is normal? If I stomp on it I see no slips or RPM jumps on any shift just a difference betweent the first 3 speeds and the fourth.
