99 X Sport - Upgrading rear calipers?

Rear discs are gone, so I'm considering replacing with something a bit better than stock. I've found plenty of aftermarket rotors, but have a few questions about calipers.

Most of the aftermarket calipers I see don't really go into detail about specific vehicle applications, so I'm a bit confused. What should I be looking for, or have any of you done the same?

I'm trying to keep the entire cost (rotor/pads/caliper/labor) at about $600. I'd be willing to try to do the work myself (save on labor) but I'm not the worlds best brake expert...

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

There are no aftermarket calipers available, but there's always the option of using aftermarkets and making them fit. Obviously that would be a custom operation.
