First off, if there is a post which has the same questions as mine, Im sorry. I looked but didnt see one.

I have a '99 XLT 2WD, and today my wife was driving the Xploder and she told me, while she was acclerating the vehicle started to shake. She was going about 30mph and the vehicle was still shaking, and then it stalled out.
I just entered Basic Training in MO, so I cant exactly take a look for my self. Any info would be more than helpful, CMR_ARMY

Was the Check Engine Light on / flashing? misfire perhaps

Could be a vacuum line came off.

My wife said she didnt notice the MIL on or any lights on for that matter. Do you know which vac line it could be? Or where to locate it?

Not to scare you but, my 99 EX was doing a similar thing. During medium to hard acceleration I felt a vibration. If I accelerated slowing I didn't get the vibration. Just got it back from the shop yesterday and after a transmission rebuild, the vibration is gone.

You may not have the same problem, just thought I'd mention it.

It could also be the u-joints. When they get worn out they can create all kinds of noises and vibrations.

I would have her just take it in and have a mechanic take a look.

I've been reading about the tranny I have and the problems that come with it. How much was the rebuild? Thanks to everyone for all the info

$883.40 parts plus $911.84 for towing and labor and Tax for a total bill of $1,795.24.
