Hello, I have always owned Fords and built a few. I appreciate any help you may provide. I have always worked on my own car. But getting old changes that. The problem I have is the rear door latch broke. I found a part. No problem. Here is ht issue. The door latch broke with the door closed. Now I am not a small man, I looked and I have a very important question. How do you replace the latch if the door is shut? How do you open it to change it? I mean they have to break before opening the rear door. What do you do to open the hatch? I know someone, many with all due respect, could you tell me. I am stumped on this one.

You have to remove the inner panel from the inside. I have had to do it on my own before, but it was many, many years ago and I don't recall the details.
