My 2001 sport trac A/C worked just fine yesterday.
Today. nothing.
I looked under the hood, and noticed that the A/C clutch (A/C Clim?) was not engaging. It just sits there not spinning.
ANd the compressor is of course dry.

I like in a tropical climate so A/C is really important...

I checked the fuses and they all seem fine.

Do I have to replace the clutch? Expensive?

Do I have to replace the compressor??

Man, this truck is costing me a lot of money here and there... :(

May have just gotten a bit low on refrigerant and the low pressure switch is keeping it from engaging.

Thanks for replying.
I hope this is the case...
Is it rare that the clutch breaks all of sudden?

First thing is to see if there's power on the Gray/White wire to the compressor clutch. If so = bad clutch. If not, check the A/C clutch relay in the battery junction box under hood. Just swap it with another like relay in the box then check for power on GY/W compressor wire. If nothing, have the system pressures checked.
