A/C clutch doesn't engage.

Just want to say Hi and let you know I am having problem with the AC clutch not engaging on my 2002 Merc Mountaineer. I checked voltage to the connection and did not get anything. Fuses and relays swapped and freon shows charged on gage.

Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the A/C & heater section. Did you check the low pressure cut out switch?

Your wire harness is probably chaffed under the oil pan. It seems to be a common issue on the 02 to 05 Explorers. I'd imagine that it is on the Mountaineer too. I had this same exact problem on my 02 Explorer with the 4.6L V8. The wire harness that contains the wires to the starter and the A/C compressor, chaffs on the oil filter drain ramp. Look just behind the cross member under the engine. Or, check out the thread I made a while back about this issue. It has pictures and everything.
