A/C freon recharging help is needed.

i bought one of those cans of freon from walmart and i tried to recharge my a/c unit, but the hose attachment wont fit either nozzle it seems like its too big. the heat is driving me nuts and my wife would like to have tha a/c again. this is the first time i have tried to do it myself.....help
 






Welcome to this forum! I've renamed your thread, and moved it into the A/C & heater section. Are you connecting it to the low side port? The new cans are R134A refrigerant. Was it converted to R134A from R12? If not, then the fittings are completely different. They make adapters for the conversion, but keep in mind that you can't mix refrigerants.
 






the high and low side fittings are different sizes (assuming you have been switched the R134 already)

You need to evacuate your system before you even think about charging it.
