A new idea on how to install LEDs.

I've been reading a lot of threads lately on how to install LED's in place of the incandescent switch bulbs and they all seem to over think what they're doing and modify too much.

this just seems so much more simple

result pictures soon as well as details with step by step pictures on how I did it (I need one more)

the light for the main light switch was a bit different but same principles

first remove the old bulb then put in the new LED and bed up the legs of one side to mimic the old bulb (use needle nose pliers to crimp the leads tight)

in this instance I had to extend the leads with left over lead on one side and the resistor on the other.

normally I'd twist the resistor to the other leg of the LED but this time I had to adapt

then bend the resistor to mimic the lead of the original light

then solder it all up and add a non conductive material, I used liquid electrical tape as it keeps the resistor leads from touching
