I know, I know.. another post on swapping a 4406 into a 5.0 with AWD, but I did something different and thought I should share.
Like all before me I did a bit of research, chose to get a manual vs Electronic, hit a few junk yards and started tinkering. I will say that loosening the fuel tank makes it easier.
but on the the different part..
having a shifter stick up beside the console would be really uncomfortable. So I modified the shifter to "dogleg" to the right coming up into the console.. of course the mechanism still moves into the wall, so a little fabrication was needed.
I still have room for the cup holders, still looking into modifying the rest.. and the pipe is a short term answer for an extension..
