A4LD bolt on swap????

Hi.
I am asking to those who have lot more experiences in transmission than i have.
Is there any transmission thats is bolt-on to replace my a4ld on my 1992 explorer 4X4 ? If yes what number and whats the difference?

I'm no expert but I believe a C5 from an '85 Bronco 11 will bolt right in. It's a 3 speed auto though. You would also have to figure out linkage.

There is no "bolt in - work out of the box" substitute that I am aware of.

There are adapters available for other transmissions, but then you have computer check engine light issues, and problems getting everything to fit just right.
