I'll get it out to you tomorrow. Shoot me an address in aPM. I can send it reg mail or priority. Let me know and I'll let you know the total. I'll just charge you what TransmissionpartsUSA charges plus postage. (Plus a $50 handling fee)

ok ok catch your breath, teasing about the handling fee.

Cool.They are like $8 right??Let me know.I PM'ed you the address.Thanks again

Yeah something like that ($8). I am also sending you the servo cover compressor tool, which of course I need you to return afterwards. It bolts on the pan rail using 2 pan bolts and makes the job sooo much easier. You'll thank me once you use it.

A word of advice. When removing the old one, make sure the transmission is on its side, and not standing on the bellhousing, end up. WHY? Because if you remove the servo in this position there is a good chance the band can fall out of position, or the apply anchor can fall out - this will not happen with the tranny on its side.

Dam I already had them both out waiting and it was on the bellhousing. The intermediate went in right away.I did have the OD servo in there sitting. How do I know if the band slipped or not??

Once you have it all back toegther adjust the bands, that will tell you and is a good idea anyway. The fact the servo piston is in there is a good thing, it will hold the band in place. I'd CAREFULLY move it to its side before pulling it out.

Mind you it is entirely possible to remove both servos and replace them with the tranny on the bell and have everything go smoothly, but when you do it on the side you eliminate or significantly minimize the *chance* of a band moving out of position or anchor falling. You can remedy that if it happens without tearing into the tranny, it is just a major PITA you don't need.

I put the tranny in today so that is done.I want to have this all back together this weekend new exhaust and all.I will have the transfer case drivelines and what not in tomorrow.Leaving the small stuff like the servo cover I am waiting on, wires, cables and fluid of course.

One more thing I noticed. The front axle wont turn freely like my other explorer. That one I can turn the front driveline with the wheels on the ground freely. The one I am putting the tranny in is locked up.is that normal untill I get it rolling or do I need to pull the hubs as well??

sure you are in neutral in either or both the TC and Tranny ?

This is with no transfer case in either one.I thought it was weird. My wrecked explorer I pulled the tranny out of turns freely with the wheels on the ground. The one I put the tranny in is locked up for some reason.Guess I will see once i get it moving again.
