I recently purchased a 5.5" superlift kit for my '92 explorer 4x4, the 3" body lift just wasn't enough to tickle my fancy. Anyway I'll get to the point, I have not begun the installation process yet and I was just wondering about the other mods that may come along with this new endeavor, for instance will I need to extend the brake lines, anybody if you have installed this kit in a '90-'94 explorer I would appriciate a reply

:) THANK YOU :)

You definitely need to extend the front brake lines. The rear is vehicle specific. My friend didn't need to on his, but I did have to on mine. Also, you may seriously want to get the Superlift super steering kit. Other than that, you should have everything you need with the kit. I'll repost if I remember anything else.

Xplorer92,

The front brake lines came with the Superlift kit when I got mine. I went back and got the rear brake lines orderd after we finished installing it. One reason because the stock rear brake lines were real tight once everything was installed, and two for peace of mind.

Also your kit is probably coming with new shocks as mine did, but if it isn't you probably should look into getting some shocks longer than the stock ones.

This may seem real obvious, but I'll through it out there, once you get the front suspension done you'll definetly want to get the front end aligned. Later, Chris

The lift is complete

I finally completed my lift! :chug: But it wasn't exactly easy. I ran into a few problems, for instance my superlift kit came with both front and rear extended brake lines but no shocks I had to buy them seprately. Also I ran into four big ass rivets on the passenger side axle bracket, and had to grind the hell out of them inorder to remove it, (a little tip for anyone who tries to install this kit themself, First of all throw away the useless instructions, just kidding don't do that they do help a little bit, anyway grind the rivets from the front all four until you have a somewhat level surface on the crossmember, then just take an airchisel or a crowbar and pry the stock bracket off, the outcome, four perfect holes to install your new bracket and easily place your bolts in.)

:) Thank you for your feedback :)
