Hey guys,

I've been having this problem for a while, was hoping one of my recent replacements (upper and lower balljoints, CV Axles, and drivers' side wheelbearing/sensor) would make it go away. Whenever I'm at < 5 MPH full steering lock to the right and hit the brakes, the ABS kicks in. I haven't seen any signs of rubbing that might lock up one of the wheels, and my ABS light isn't on. Should I pull the other front sensor and test it? (I work for a sensor supplier as an EE, I know it's a VR sensor and how to go about testing it), or could it be an issue elswhere int he system? I'm not throwing any codes, either.

Thanks,

tonyMac

We had a similar issue on our 98 chevy suburban, yes i know completely different makes, but what he is describing is almost what we had. When you would go slow and slightly hit the brakes, the abs would come on for no reason causing you to still move forward. Only way to get the brakes to engage was to release the pedal and hit it again. What we did was bought both ABS Wheel speed sensors, and replaced the old ones on there. The wires had been, looked to me like the ends were melting from excessive heat from the brakes. They were the original ones on the vechile and it has over171,000 miles. Replaced them and never had the problem since. The ABS light did come on once and awhile but then would go out. Hope this helps.
