Anybody else have this situation? First thing in the morning, I fire the truck up and no problem. If the car sits all day in the hot sun and I start the truck and drive it, no abs light. However, if I start the truck and go for a ride on a warm day, then park it and turn off the engine, the the abs light comes on when I re-start it and drive it. The light comes on right away. This does not happen at all on cool days (less than 60 degrees F).

I have not had the codes read yet. I thought that this forum would be my first stop. I'll try and get over to Autozone and see if they will run the codes for free.

To summarize - cool days, no problem. Fisrt start in the morning - no problem. First start later in the day - no problem. Second restart after the engine is hot on a warm day - whammo - abs light comes on.

thanks

I have also seen this happen with my 94. I am not sure why the ABS light seems to come on more in warm weather or when the truck is warm. Maybe the brake fluid, when heated, gets more air bubbles in it, and this can trip the ABS sensor in the master cylinder. Or maybe the rear abs sensor is worn out and the heat makes it set off a code.

Thanks. I guess I'll console myself by saying that it does not happen during our New England winters which is when we need abs the most.

I would immediately get the code(s) scanned to determine the root of the problem.

Good luck.....
