ABS sensor replacement.

Hi all...I am kinda new to this forum,just never posted anything yet.I searched forums and couldn't find anything on the location of the abs sensors on a 2002 explorer.My light has been on for a while and I went to autozone to have them check to tell me which one was bad or dirty and all I got from them was its not the rear one.Any advise would be greatly appriciated...

The two front ABS sensors are in the front hub assembly.
Turn the wheel to one side and look behind the tire for a black wire, that wire goes to the ABS sensor.

Most auto parts stores can't read ABS codes, you need a special scanner. Dealer will have one and he may want $120 to read it; also my local brake shop had one too $45 for a read. With the code you will know which one has failed otherwise its a guess.
But the most common failure in order:
1) Rear ABS sensor in the Diff. (they said not that one) . .ABS light will turn on as soon as you start the truck and put it in drive.

2) Cruise Master Cylinder Switch, C1440 code, usually ABS light will come on after driving for a few miles or 20minutes.

3,4) Front ABS sensors (two) as noted above, same symptom as the rear, light on as soon as you put it in drive.

Thanks for the info...and the welcomes...I'm gonna try and tackle this problem today.I hate going to the shops where they try to play me and say also you should do this and that blahh blahh blahh cuz ima girl,and then I have to give them the business lol.Not all females are car and truck illiterate!
