is this a noise it would make if its going bad?

when i posted that before i was told look for shavings in oil or a cam bearing. but i had a friend whos a mechanic hear it and he said it sounds like the ac compressor. is that it possibly? i am low on freon but not empty, it gets moderatly cold if that means anything
edit: noise happens on any ac/heat setting, even off. when stopped at a light and when accelerating(drive or reverse) really slow for a second
