AC direction

Hello, I’m driving a 4.0LT explorer sort track. Today as I was driving the vehicle the AC direction kept switching to and from windscreen to the face mode automatically without me doing anything. This kept going on till I got back home. Has anyone come across this situation, or does anyone have a idea what’s going on.

Just had that happen in my 2010. I pick up the part a O'reilly's on the way home tomorrow.
