Anyone have a clue as to why the AC unit is leaking water inside the cab? It only happens when I run the AC. A small stream of water leaks out coming down the carpet on the passenger side. The water gathers on the floorboard. It seems to come from somewhere under the area where the stereo, etc. is. It's not much water but it's more than nothing. Possibly there's a drain plug that's clogged. Anyone? Anyone?

I've got the same thing that happens, only on the drivers side, when I wear shorts I can feel it drip on my shin. I just think of it as supplimentary cooling! Thanks Ford! LOL

Actually I think it's just that the AC is maybe working too hard and is starting to freeze up? Whenever I get the little drips of water, I also get a lot of condensation around the center vent right above the stereo.

Sorry I don't have a technical explanation though, hopefully someone will chime in and inform us as to what is causing this phenomenon.

Your A/C drains are clogged and need to get cleaned out. The water (from condensation) needs to go somewhere and if the drains are not clear the box fills with water and leaks out at the seams. The water at the vent is an indicator that the water collecting in the box is rising and getting blown ot the vents.

Thanks Dr. One question.....where are the AC drains located?

same thing happened with another car...it was the heater core which was near the glove compartment....some antifreeze have no odor.

Locate the box under the dash where the A/C unit is located and you should see a hose coming put of the bottom of it leading to the underside of the car. When you had your A/C running do you see a puddle of water under the car? If not then your drains are clogged. All cars will dribble water under the car when the A/C is running. No water is a sign of clogged drains.

ok, gonna look for the hose under the dash when I get home, I wonder what it's clogged up with??????
Thanks a billion for the info Scott!
