I have the stock 6CD with Nav headunit, with stock subwoofer. I'm very happy with the overall sound, and will NOT be changing the headunit, amps, speakers, etc. The problem is that when passengers are in the rear, the bass is too much for conversation. But turning down the bass level (at the headunit), makes the mains sound ridiculously tin-ey. So, to please the family, I have the subwoofer unplugged at the speaker, which ticks me off when I'm by myself.

Would this PAC LC-2 controller allow me to keep the headunit bass where I want it, and simply adjust the subwoofer as needed?

Would this go before or after the amp? (I think it's the line-level to the amp, right?)
If so, how do I go about finding the correct wire(s) behind the HU?
I would probably mount this under the dash, or perhaps inside the center console.
I've never done any car audio work, so please feel free to dumb this down for me.

Anyone? Bueller??
