I picked up some extra power outlets a few weeks ago and just now got around to wiring them up. I found a pretty good place for them. Since i installed my CB last year i've not been able to use my ash tray. Never did really use it anyways since i don't smoke. I took the CB out, removed the ash tray, did a ton of cutting for little project it was, and here is my finished product. Let me know what you think about it.

Happy trails!!

Nice! Looks factory.

I have the convenience package with the full console so I would have to figure something else out.

I have a power inverter and I wish to add the outlets to my truck. Can you let me know which parts did you buy to wire it up?

Thanks.

Looks like a great install. Could u not have wired your CB and had your ashtray free again?

haktmal, I have instructions for adding 120V power somewhere on the site. It's very easy once you wire the inverter. You just need a fairly heavy extension cord, a household electricians box, a household outlet, and an outlet cover. Took me about 1.5 hours including the cutting I had to do.

very nice install! the installs people do on this site always impress me. the CB does look a little beat up but it still looks super smooth!

Nice install.:) Are the two lighters wired seperatley, or are they hooked together?

The CB actually isn't beat up, it's just dirty. I had to do some of the cutting inside of the truck so everthing was covered with dust, as you can tell from the CB. That is about the only place i liked when installed the CB. It is out of the way, and i think it looks pretty good where it is. I keep my mic off and under the back seat cause the only time i use it is when i'm 4 wheelin.

Yeah they are wired together. I used a fairly heavy wire for the power and then grouned them together. Probably wasn't the best idea, but for as much as i'm going to use them they will be fine.

All i bought were the 2 power outlets from Autozone. I had the wire and connects and all that junk.

Happy trails!!
