Adding Explorer lettering to side door?

I've been playing and looking around at this site (dangerous thing to do :)) and sort've decided that if at all possible, I'd like to add my 2nd gen lettering to the side doors. Basically, I replaced my old gate and scraped off the lettering and with the new one I did the same and replaced it with a 1st gen Sport emblem. It's awesome, but now I have two EXPLORER letterings with a Sport and XLT, and most of you guys know, it's all individual letters.
So I have those extra letters and nothing to do with them so I thought it would be kinda neat to add it like some 3rd gens had on the side doors. Although the 3rd gen lettering I've seen is a one-piece emblem, I don't know how practical it is to use the 2nd gen lettering. This really isn't a big deal, just an idea so I really don't plan on paying for 3rd gen emblems and none of the junkyards around here have any 3rd gens or anything that new, so I'm stuck.

I guess what I'm really asking is how practical and difficult would it be to put the 2nd gen lettering on the door just like the 3rd gens have. I've seen plenty of threads on how to REMOVE lettering but none about adding, so I just wanted some friendly opinions/suggestions/ideas on the topic. I've got some sort of cement/adhesive I used on the emblem in back and basically used a ruler sitting on the plastic tailgate piece to keep it straight. Only thing I have on my doors is a thin indent design so I don't know how well that would work. Anyone have any suggestions or comments on how to do this with the individual lettering or is it something too hard to do or not worth it. I definitely appreciate any help or advice here. Thanks.

The later 2nd gen and 3rd gen lettering is individual letters, similar to some of the lettering on the 2nd gen doors and 3rd gen doors.

If you get new emblems, they come with a face tape that holds them in position during application.

Hmm so some of the 3rd gen lettering was individual lettering as well? I saw a 3rd gen and I could've sworn it was one piece and maybe it was. Aside from getting new emblems, do you think there's anything I could add or use for the existing letters to help? Not really trying to put much into this "mod," just wanna use every bit of Explorer pieces I have unless I could find some emblems for just dirt cheap.

If you're talking about this text:

Those are indeed individual letters...

The Gen IV went to the solid badge, which is what I have on Deuce now.

Hard to say, as once they're removed, they are very hard to get situated straight and equal again when you re-stick them on.

Nice pictures!

Ok, kinda sounds like it may be pretty hard to do right, so I guess I'm better off not trying it. Its not that awesome that I want to risk messing up the paint or looking dumb or something just because of an idea... I guess I'll be on the hunt for some one-piece emblems if I could find them super-duper cheap. Thanks for the help Joe

They're usually about $10 shipped on eBay. (The one I have)
