So I am adding some led light strips under the dash on both sides and was wondering if anyone knew which wire it would be to tap into in order to turn them on while the doors are open.

Thanks in advance.

I don’t have my owners manual with me, but it has a diagram for the interior fuse box with all of the fuses functions and locations. Probably easiest to just use a fuse tap and run a wire to the lights.

If you want them on only when the doors are open, see if there’s a fuse for puddle lights or overhead lights, but again, I don’t have my owners manual with me so I have no clue.

Yeah i know that but there is always a colored wire behind the kick panel that you can tap into. I did it in my mustang and my mountaineer, just was unsure of the color in my 2010 Explorer.

If you want them to come on with the light switch/dash lights during night driving, tap into the illumination wire in the dash to center panel switches. Should be quick and simple.
