Well per the advice given on here i am going to get an Ed 11 kv.2 10 inch subwoofer. That's pretty much set, but i am wondering if this amp will do, if you didn't already notice i am do this on the NO MONEY budget.

The amp is a Pioneer GM-7300M on Ebay for $75 shipped.
Pioneer AMP On Ebay

I can get a new one for about $105 shipped.

Please be kind, just looking for some advice on whether to get new/used or get something else. I know nothing about amps and their quality or performance Thanks for any help.

I would personally say, it depends on the features and power on the one you have. It really depends what you want. If you want a lot of power than you may need to spend some money but if you really dont need a lot of power than do not worry about it.

I currently don't have a subwoofer and am just running amplified Alpine speakers and an alpine amp and a Pionneer AVIC N-1. I am just wanting to add a subwoofer to the setup.

I feel like it will be enough to satisfy my needs i just wanted to make sure it is a quality unit and be able to power the subwoofer i listed, the Ed 11kv.2 subwoofer.

The amp will power it, but not to the subs full potential. The amp will run it to a little over half power at real power (provided you wire it to 2 ohm, i believe that sub is dual 4 ohm) so you will definately not have to worry about blowing the sub. If you are not worried about having very hard hitting bass you should definately go for it. You could always make it hit a little harder with a correctly ported box. good luck:thumbsup:

Is there a preferred way to wire, 4ohm vs 2 ohm for my situation. Also would there be any other amps you would recommend, reasonably priced that would power it better?

Set the gains properly! Sometimes it's easier to blow a sub with too little power vs too much, because people crank the amp gains and cause clipping.

That sounded like german to me, can you translate please.

360 watts is PLENTY for a 11Kv.2...even a 13Kv.2

That amp will match perfectly with that sub...just make sure you get the DUAL 4 ohm sub

The sub is in fact a Daul 4 Ohm. Still though i am confused as to which way i am supposed to run the sub 4 Ohm or 2 Ohm for this setup. I honestly don't even know which one is "better". I am guessing that i would do 2 Ohm for the reported 360W output. Thanks for all the input guys.

only options you have of wiring is the coils in series for an 8 ohm load or in parallel for a 2 ohm load which you want.

Heres a simple vid that helps a lot of people.

Alright well it looks like the subwoofer, enclosure and amp are coming my way. The items are not new so i was wondering if anyone could help me out on the wiring.

All of the components in my vehicle currently are Pioneer AVIC N-1 HU, 4 Alpine speakers, 4-Channel Alpine amp.

So how would i wire the new mono channel amp and sub into my current system?

Also what's the preferred gauge of wire? Amp is 360W RMS.

Thanks a lot for any help.

Doesn't that Pioneer unit have a sub preamp output...?

That's what i am guessing but i am having a hard time finding the "schematics" of the brain box. I didn't install it so i don't know where the brain box is located either. It's not under the passenger seat so it's in the dash, which means, i think, that i would have to remove the head unit completely to access it.
