Aerostar factory alarm

Hi. I'm new here. I have a 97 awd aerostar with factory alarm. When I bought it, it didn't have the remote so I have never armed the alarm. My wife left the lights on and killed the battery. When I tried to jump it, the alarm sounds and it also must have some kind of ignition cut off because it doesn't do anything when I jump it other than the alarm sounds. Is there a way to over ride the factory alarm, and can I remove it completely? Thanks for any suggestions.

Welcome to this forum! Look under the dashboard or the carpet for a module.

Thanks for the welcome. When I find the module, I just unplug it and I'm good to go?

There might be a fuse, relay or push button switch somewhere. If not, then just unplug the module.
