is the 5.0 in my 2001 mountanieer the same motor that was in the 87-93 gt mustangs? If so, can you use the cobra heads and intake manifold listed for that model mustang.

Your motor already has GT-40P heads and intake, the same stuff that they put on the Cobra. Mustang guys seek out our intakes and heads for their mustangs.

I'll have to do some looking- don't know right off hand. The Explorers/Mountaineers are more torque tuned than a Mustang would be, so more HP could be reached, but at the loss of torque.

I like my mounty better then a trail blazer and theres something about building a vechile and making it fast thats way more satisfying then just going and buying one
oh and IMO i think if you got a turbo from rocket or someone or even a supercharger you'd be blowing away a trailblazer SS and it would be cheaper.
That and if you got that kind of money go buy a ford lightning!

Jon will be 13 second truck when he gets it tuned eventually.

Allow a good $5000-7k for engine/trans etc. and you will beat the Chevy. You will also have $25000 less debt than he who owns a Trailblazer SS.
