After torsion twist?

After my torsion twist I took it in to get aligned and they told me I needed a camber kit. Is this true?? They were charging a lot so I didn't have it done, but should I do it. Also can I add-a-leaf to my sport with the monoleaf or do I have to go with shackles? Would air shocks lift the back a little? Thanks

You do not need the camber kit, the camber kit is for the 91-94 X's.

As far as I know you cannot use the add-a-leaf with the mono leaf, you could go to a bone yard and get the spring pack from a 4dr X, then do the add-a-leaf...

You can just use the shackles on the monoleaf..

Airshock's won't give you any worthwhile lift, it will just make your ride stiffer..

YES, you need a camber adjuster kit to align the front end after doing a TT.

I used the kit in the Explorer Express lowering kit for mine ( a '99 ), howeverm the alignment shop should have the necessary parts.

You definately need it.

you might as well go get a 4-dr leaf pack. firms up the ride a LOT!

If you raise your X doing a TT no more then 2" it will still be within stock parameter's, After I did mine I had the alignment shop check it out and it was out less then 1/2 degree from spec's, so they did nothing..

Then 95+ X's do not have camber adjustment's
The solution? A new set of aftermarket cam bolts that replace the original equipment upper control arm bolts.

but other than that I don't know of any Camber adjuster kit for the 95+ X's

as far as lowering I have no clue.....

Thanks to everyone. So if I do need it how much should it cost, they were saying $213, I just thought maybe that was alot. I guess I will check out some junk yards, is it hard to switch the spring pack? Also I am in San diego, where can I get some shackles, auto store?? Thanks alot.

That is what the "kir" is, simply 4 adjusting cams that replace the stock non adjustable onwa.

I am not certain, but the cams are designed so that one CAN align the front. I assume they would work fine.

I could have sworn that the shop that did my alignment told me that they got the kit from Ford. Though, I've never checked Ford to see if they stocked them, and my alignment shop didn't tell me I needed the kit until my alignment was done, and then they charged me mucho for it :fire: (not my alignment shop anymore). Like Al said, the alignment shop will have it. But if you find anywhere else that has them for sale to the public, you can almost bet that it will be cheaper than the price your shop will give you for it.

Stephen, exactly what I was thinking. I would give them the alignment cams BEFORE the alignment.

Cynthia, i just had a thought, you can just get OME springs. they give you 2" of lift.
