Aftermarket CD Player - How do I connect CD Changer and Steering Wheel Controls??

I just bought a Kenwood DPX-301 CD Player (Got a good deal) What do I have to do to connect it to the CD Changer? And especially the Steering Wheel controls?

From what I understand with an aftermarket head unit, you won't be able to use your 6-disc changer anymore. I've looked into the steering wheel controls and the only solution I've found is an RF repeater module like this http://www.crutchfield.com/S-aAX9xzXBC1p/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?search=pac+x+steering&i=127SWIX
from Crutchfield or another retailer. I've been thinking about doing this as I just put my JVC head unit in my vehicle last night, but I'm not sure if $70 is worth it when I can just move my hand 8 inches to the right and accomplish the same thing.
