Looking to see if anyone has a bead on some aftermarket headlights. All the amber in my 2012's is less than ideal, and i'd like to get something that looks a little more clean. I've searched around a lot, but had no luck. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Welcome to the Forum.
I'm guessing you don't mean the headlight fixture? There are several threads here on upgrading the bulbs and also on installing HID. If looking at HID, check this out first. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/index.php?threads/installing-hid-read-this-first.397670/
There are just too many threads to list here. Use the 'Search' feature and look in the 'Modified' sub forum.

I'm actually talking about the whole housing. I'm not a fan of the big amber bar at the top and wanted to see what options are out there. I've seen some cool stuff, but no links onto purchase anything which leads me to believe it's mostly custom work.

Okay, I see. I don't know if you will find anything in the aftermarket scene. I checked out a site that has custom headlights for different vehicles and the ones for Ford only go up to 2010. Not sure if you've seen the following thread or not but it has the amber strip removed. To me it just doesn't look right, but that's just me.

Looks like what you want to do will require 'custom' work.

No aftermarket options. For the Amber, you're pretty much limited to removing the Amber completely, or tinting it. Either option requires you to dissamble the light, removing the lens from the assembly so that you can access the amber cover. If you remove it you'll need amber bulbs (if they aren't already Amber).
I'm hoping to pull mine apart this week to tint the Amber portion with some 20% tint to black it out, yet still maintain the Amber when lit.

Yes, please make sure the bulbs are amber if you remove the amber portion.
I hate when people have clear bulbs in the turn signals, which then flash a blinding clear light.

ask and ye shall receive at not too steep a price...check out the fogs and various bulbs at bottom of page, LED halogen form factor bulbs that fit halogen harness? whaaaat? someone please test these out.
anyway...

tinted my amber without removing the light. Ebay has pre-cut tint that works perfect. The pic in my profile is with my amber's on I use my amber's as DRL. My amber's/DRL only come on when I shift out of park.

With ambers off. I even tinted my ambers on my side mirrors.
