I have a 2001 limited 4 door and it has the Mach audio system with a subwoofer in the rear. I found out that you can't replace the stock deck with an aftermarket deck and keep the function of the subwoofer. Is this true? I know I can put my own sub in there with an aftermarket deck but I would rather keep the stock in there. So can I keep the stock subwoofer working with an Aftermarket in dash cd player like an Alpine?
Thanks in advance
Dylan

Did you ever figure this out?

It can be done, I forgot where I read it but someone did a write up on it. I think it was another website.....but I came across it while searching for information on wiring an aftermarket deck on explorers. Ill try to find the write up when I have a moment.

I've never seen a stock amp or sub that's worth anything. Can't say I've seen the Mach setup either. But if it uses 18-22 gauge wire, its crap.

Have you looked at crutchfield? Contact them about a stereo and explain what you are trying to achieve.
