I've been thinking about swapping my 96 airbag out with a newer one from an 02+ Sport/SportTrac. I've seen black ones, there is even one on ebay right now. The look nicer and have the Ford emblem embossed/plastic instead of molded into the face.
Will an 02+ work? Will it line up with the 95-01 wheel? Will the connector work? I know the new ones are second generation air bags where the opening rate is dependent on impact but you would think that is controlled through the airbag controller not the bag itself. I cant tell from this pic if the plug is the same or not.
