Hey al, what did you do to polish your engine so nicely? thanks

Simple Green ever so often and then spary a little Pig Spit.

watered down simple green? I have found full strength it will discolor some black plastic parts??

So will foamy engine brite if you leave it too long

You know the throttle body covers for the 1st gen, if you put some simple green on that sucker full strength it will lighten the black a bit
Also not good on painted parts

I use simple green, super clean both watered down jsut a hair, or foamy engine brite

Aldive this is a bit off subject but do you sell Amsoil air filters? I think one would look real sharp on my BII and the KKM it has has seen better days...

Yes, I am an Amsoil dealer and offer Amsoil goods to all members here at my cost.

Another question, is that crank case breather where the pvc vavle is supposta go, and where do i put the seafoam, i dont want to put it in the wrong hose and mess something up, al, can you posta pix circling where to insert the seafoam.. thanks alot.

Al, no disrespect, however the breather has everything to do with the PCV valve. When vacuum goes low, PCV opens. At this time the breather is passing air into the valve cover-thru crankase, and up thru intake via the PCV.
This is air entering the intake path, it is part of the combustion, and, since it is during low vacuum, (acceleration) this air must be metered.

Also, during acceleration, some blowby will occur. the breather filter in line with hose will keep some oil out of the intake tube ( like you had it before)

You might ask Doug about this "metered " air thing. I am sure it is important.

Jon, I simply ment that the breather did not go where the PCV valve was as was asked in the question.

Thanks for clearing it up.

that's amazing. beautiful truck man. i get somewhere around 12-13 MPG when i'm easy on it. i had one of those amzoil filters a while ago when i was a dealer. noticable difference over stock, but i'd recommend the KKM kit, for a little extra flow. Of course i may be wrong altogether and that could seng your MPG to the single digits. i'm sure you know more about all this than me.

Al, do you know where your engine coolant temp runs? What thermostat rating do you have there?

My engine is right at 190 +/- 3-4 degrees, with a 197 thermostat. Have you noticed if your's runs a few degrees warmer in Summer, I would prefer the mid 190's? Regards,
