I am looking for anyone with dual exhausts on their SOHC, does anyone have sound clips? pics of how the pipes are routed? Did you lose any low end torque?

I was thinking a 50 or 70 series flowmaster with 2" pipe and 2.5" tip?

Is this good or should I change my mind?

Go with a 2.25" or 2.5" tailpipe and route it through the stock location.

here is mine, it is 2.25 duals. And I have 2.5 inch tips, my friend had 3's on his and it was WAY too big, looked out of proportion.

GaSouthern1 here is mine, it is 2.25 duals. And I have 2.5 inch tips

Are you running 2 1/4 to the mufflers and then 2 1/2 out?

i think hes got a Mineke Turbo muffler.....correct me if im wrong

Is that a single muffler with single in and dual out?

unless he has a Y-pipe its a dual in/out

It is a Mineke Vortex or something, it is the same thing as a flowmaster with a little bit of fiberglass in it. I am running 2.25 inch pipe, stock pipe to the muffler, it is a dual in, single out. I only have the single out becasue i did not plan on getting duals when i got the muffler. I am gonna go back to single out and just get it to dump out the side behind the rear tire and behind the tupperware so you cant see the pipe at all. Also, teh muffler shop where i got it done just used a torch and cut a hole in the origonal pipe and welded the left side pipe to it, kinda a crappy y pipe i guess.

If you click the 2nd link in my sig there are some pics of the pipes in one of those albums. Hope they help. Any good shop should be able to figure it out. Just make sure they relocate the brake box on the drivers side.

With a Sport it really can't be done
There is no where to run the other pipe unless you want to remove your spare.
I really wanted to have dual on my Sport, but my local guy who is a specialist in custom exhaust gave me the bad news.

I had to return my dual in dual out for a dual in single out. *sigh* oh well, life goes on

I'm pretty sure there's a guy on here tha has duals on his sport with the spare tire still there. Don't know who it is tho.

Why are you so set on duals? The sohc needs a little back pressure or else it looses torque. I lost a noticeable amount of torque with just a single 2.5" pipe and a magnaflow (straight through muffler). I switched to a flowmaster, which has baffles in it, and got the torque back.

I was told the same thing by three different muffler shops when I was shopping for duals. They all suggested no bigger than a 2.5" with a baffled muffler. I just went through the same thing with my F-250. It has a 351W and I was going to go with duals but they only suggest a single 3" for it.

I would think duals would be fine on the 351.
