Almost dies on startup

when i start my explorer, 4.0 ohv w/ auto tranny, the rpms go up 1500 then drop to about 300 and it almost stalls out for a second, and then it catches itself and bring idle up to about 1000, after she gets warm she idles at about 700. once she is started, i have no problems at all, no rough idle, no reving when in idle, its only at startup.

any ideas what is causing this or how to fix it??

You might want to clean the MAF and the IAC. Maybe give her a Sea Foam treatment.
