well my alternator took a dump on me last night, and right now my budget doesnt allow for a $100 for an alternator for the X

so i was wondering if anyone knew if any cheaper alts could be somehow modified to fit an explorer?

any info is great

gonna try and see if i can get it rebuilt any cheaper also

A junkyard near here charges only 21$ for a pulled one. I bought two just in case. I still have the other , if your nearby you can have it for 21$.

It probably can be rebuilt for $10 in parts-- then whatever labor is involed-- or do it yourself.

cant be rebuilt, i took it apart last night and the bearing went out and took out the wrapping inside of it, so need a new one.

i would take the $21 one but im in nebraska so thats a bit far lol got a guy local who might have one for $30 though

i just know i've bought a couple alts for under $50 for previous vehicles, dont remember what now, but thought i might be able to make one work

thanks anyway guys
