On My 3rd Generation Explorer All My Wheels Have This Oxidation On Them From Where Wheel Weights Were And Around The Center Caps. Is There Any Way of Fixing This.? Because I Dont Really Want To Pay For A New Set of Wheels.

The Oxidation Is Where The Wheel Weights Were Pounded On And Around The Center Cap Here's A Picture

Is there oxidation on all the rims where the center cap is? Also original tires on the truck or replacements? I can see oxidation if someone hammered on wheel weights onto aluminum wheel which caused the clear coat to chip.. You may be able to use some aluminum polish or possibly even some very fine steel wool to clear the oxidation and clear em over

Its the third set of tires on it, Each Wheel Has 2 Spots On It And Its Startiing To Do It Around The Wheel Weight. And All Of Them Have It Around The Center Caps.

If you are very "rim picky" use nothing but stick on weights for balancing. There is no way to avoid the scratching from the clamp on weights.

When stick on weights are used though, they often fly off, or, might even interfere with the brake calipers if they are stacked onto each other.

So, you either spend time replacing weights, or sanding clearcoat.

Then we could spend the day talking about the tire installation itself. Care must be used when placing and tightening the nuts. The cap should be tapped on with a rubber mallet. One slam of a metal tool to the clearcoat is all it takes to start the peeling.
