I currently have a blaupunkt hu rated 52x4 and 4 6.5" blaupunkt speakers. I was wondering if i should....

A. buy a 2 chanel amp to power rear speakers (can get a rockford amp 2x40 watts used for $30) and power front speakers with hu?

B. buy a 4x40 amp new to power all 4 speakers for about $200

I am just looking to get clear loud sound for the cheapest price. Will their be a big difference in sound between a and b?

I think your best bet would be a 4 ch amp to power all the speakers.

Good luck.....

Go for the 4 channel amp.

4 channel is better...but if you want the 2 channel....either get a larger one and put the front on one channel and the rear on the other. Or if you really want that amp power the fronts with the amp and the rears off the HU(you had it backwards)

Go with the 4 channel amp. If you read your owners manual you will see the radio has about 15 watts RMS power.

How about getting the 2 channel amp and running 2 speakers to each channel. 2 4ohm speakers in parallel would be a 2 ohm load per channel and would double the output wattage per channel.
