Amp location?

Where is the amp location in a 00 sport? I want to bypass it if possible but people say 99 sports had the amp built in to the factory stereo just thought they might have continued to do so in 2000. If someone would take the time......can you please tell me exactly what i need to do(such as which wires need spliced and where to put them afterwards) so i dont screw something up

I have an 2000 Sport as well and was trying to put my new amp and speakers in, and what I had to do was install a line level converter. I didn't do it though, got a friend to do it, but the converter was like $25 at Circuit City.

I think 98 and up had the amp built into the radio as opposed to being mounted external.

ok then why do i get no sound??? im using a Sosche wire harness, i believe it is FDK10, got it from wal-mart and it says on the back for like 98-up explorers
