i hooked up my speakers and amp, and they works good when the radio volume is around 10 but any higher it goes into protection mode. i got the ground hooked up to the body. (under the spring loaded carpeted flaps the cover the gap when the back seats are down) i sanded the area, so it was nice shinny metal and bolted it (removed a bolt and replaced it after the wire was in)

What amp?
What speakers?
What ohm speakers?
Speakers wired in series or parallel (if more than one per channel)?
What gauge power and ground wire?

cheap lanzar 286 4k
2 kicker L7 Dual Coil 4ohm, each wired parallel so 2 ohms each speaker, 2 channels
4ga pwr/grnd

i had all levels on amp down and the lvl on the head low like 10 of 35, and the subs were hitting, and prity hard for this amp& was on low, but if i raise the volume on the head it hits protection. when i turn the car off and back on, it goes back on but same thing happens

what is the voltage at the amp terminals when it shuts off??
