Well ... I just had the Amsoil,dual by-pass filter system
installed yesterday,the fiters both go on a heavy-duty block
that I had mounted inbetween the grill and radiator,it's a 2-filter system,and the by-pass filter does such a good job of cleaning the oil,that at 45 mph,it's like getting an oil change every 5 min.,system uses a spin on adapter.getting the oil analized every 5000 miles,will be the norm.
Wish me luck !!!

Bill,

All right!!!! Great to hear you got your dual remote installed. Are you ready to go maybe forever without changing your oil? Did you run into any problems with the installation? Do you have any pics that you can post?

What Bill has done is install a remote bypass filtering system. The AMSOIL bypass filter will filter particles down to 1/10 of a micron. Most engine wear occurs from particles in the 5 to 20 micron range. An SAE paper written several years ago reported wear reduction from 68% to 92% by using the dual remote filtering system.

Has anyone beside Bill installed this system?

I plan on doing it shortly. My only concern is mounting location.

Ideas? Gary? Others.....

Al :, I beleive where I had it mounted....that may be the only place to put it ? you must be able to get at both filters.
it also cools much better when I'm going down the road !and my filters are in an upright position !!!

Bill, with your kit, did you have enough hose and fittings to mount where you did?

Also, how did you rout the hoses?

Thanks.....

I'll take some better pics

sometime on monday and post them in my sig.
I did not need any more hose {I cut it in half} and that was a perfect length !!,this is a very heavy duty hose.I did order some extra hardware {elbows},but I forgot what came in the kit ? {this was a few years ago ?}

Is there a location on this kit for a place to put an oil temperature sending unit?

yes there are a few plugs on the block,I used one of them for the petcock valve {this did not come in the kit}
but there is another screw cap{plug} on the block !!
this is a nice idea {oil temp}

Bill, how did you route the hoses to you filter location?

Thanks.....

Al :, not sure what you want ?,I did promise to take some photos...and I forgot,I will get it done tomorrow afternoon.this is a simple run for 2 hoses that I zip-tied together along the entire run.

at the stock filter location is where the adapter plate goes,the hose was cut in half for a perfect length for the 2 runs of hose,you then have to assemble the ends.it's such a durable rigid hose,that you have to drop some oil into the hose when sending the cone shaped ends into them during installation to lube the hose some ! the filter kit instructions are very well written for the install.

the ends that go into my adapter plate are straight {no angle in them due to the recessed local of where the stock filter was}there is only a slight bend in my hoses at this local,it's nearly impossible to kink this hose,but be carefully not to.
