Yep, I saw a youtube of a guy replacing the timing on an Audi 4.2. Makes our 4.0 look like a baby walk. I think Mercedes has similar monster. They need to come out too.
sometimes it might just be better to stick with pushrods
holy heck
Some of the old 2.9 cosworth engines had the cams over the heads and all these long chains....nightmare!!
but 400HP from a cologne 2.9L is impressive.
I guess the Cosworth 24V 2.9L chains are not as bad as I remember
It was the early overhead cam 427 that was crazy, but still not as nuts as that Audi design.....
Not bad for a 427 designed in 1964!!! The 427 "Cammer" SOHC
Probably made down the road from our Cologne V6ses . The German engineers probably had a drunk night out and agreed on new improved designs .
Best system was used on my 1988 F350 7.3 diesel. GEAR DRIVEN. Sold it at 450,000 miles (rust) never touched the engine. Heck never touched any part of the drive train.
i have a 97 f350 7.3 4 door 5 speed 4x4 that i intercooled and has swamps injection, i have a 2001 7.3 excursion, and a 2000 7.3 e350 van....
you do not have to tell me about how great the international 444ci 7.3 is!!!
