I just bought this 06 XLS, and a couple of days after we had it the rear brakes started squealing like a bus, even buses dont squeal this bad. So I figured maybe it was the indicators. The pads (motorcraft) had plenty of life left, however I replaced the pads with autozone cheapo's anyway. Squeal was immediate again. I went to Oreilly's and bought the wagner thermo-quiet pads (which are usually my failsafe for persistent squeals), and installed them with the spray-on aerosol grease/glue, and no squeal... for two days. They are squealing again and this is really pissing me off. So my questions are: 1) Has anyone here experienced this with their explorer, and if so how did you resolve it? 2) Could this represent a bigger problem, like maybe my master cylinder not functioning properly, maybe not enough pressure going to the rear lines or something?
