Annoying serpentine chirp... any suggestions?
The belt was changed just before I bought the car (around 100k miles and I have since put an additional 8,000 on it). Belt Dressing spray takes the chirp out when I spray it in (usually in the morning) for the day, but it seems to start up again the day after or a few days after. I initially thought it could have just been the belt contracting and being cold because it started in the winter and as I would drive the chirp would gradually dissappear (as the engine warmed up). But... now that it's spring and the ambient outside temp is around 60 degrees or so here, I've still been noticing it. Any advice?
Sorry, posted this in Under the Hood by mistake...if a mod would bump it over to General it would be appreciated before I get flamed
Thanks.
