Another balancer failure... seen one like this?

Soooo.... about 2 weeks ago, the wife's Explorer starts acting crazy. Misfires, crazy vibration, etc...

I took a look at the crank pulley and saw a wobble. I had already replaced the thing a few years ago when the pulley ring became separated from the core of the balancer.

I was expecting more of the same when I began to pull the pulley to replace it with the new one I bought. I knew something was wrong when there was ZERO resistance when trying to loosen the crank pulley bolt. The pulley wobbled freely in my hands and when I pulled it from the key, this is what came out:

This came off of the V-6.

Doesn't seem to have caused any damage, as car's running great again with the new pulley.
