another dumb question

if you take the engine and trans ecu from a ranger or explorer why not the headlight harness to arnt the headlights the samethat it would it just plug up together p.s. one if your bronco had electronic 4x4 but the huds were replanced with manual ones do you still need the selector switches on the dash or could you remove them and put auxillary likghting switches in that position and is the 4wd control module needed any longer at that point

with regards to the harness it depends on the year of BII in question, mine the lighting harness is separate from the ecu harness, I cut the headlight harness out of the explorer harness.

the electronic switches are to shift the transfer case in and out, not to lock the hubs in, the automatic hubs lock in mechanically, by replacing them with the manual ones you are requiring that you get out of the vehicle to engage the axle shaft to the hub on the front axle. The transfer case splits the power coming from your transmission to go to the rear wheels only (2wd) to the front and rear wheels (4wd) and to shift in the gearset that gives you low range in the case, (4lo).
