I was looking at rockauto.com for finding rotors for front break of 98 EB V8 5.0L AWD. There are big categories - economy and daily driver. In each catagory there are many choices, some listed as 5.0L 4x4, some listed as Eddie Bauer and some listed as used with ABS. Here are the questions.

- I thought that all 98 explorers are equipped with ABS. THen why some rotors are described specifically with ABS.
- Is there is differece of rotor for 4x2, 4x4 and AWD?
- Can rotor described for 4x4 be used with My Eddie Bauer?

I only drive about 8K miles every year. What kind of rotor I can use. I don;t want to over spend.

Thanks for the advice!

All 98's were equipped with ABS, however the rotor may fit multiple years (thats my guess).
There IS a difference between a 2X4 and the 4X4 for front rotor selection.
The 4X4 and AWD systems share the same rotor, regardless of the particular model designation.
I would go with the "daily driver" category as a minimum.

yes 4x4 and 4x2 rotors are different, i actually picked up a set of brembo slotted rotors for very cheap from tirerack.com, matched them with hawk hps pads, deff a better combo then stock, and NO DUST.
