Well I parked the truck tonight and figured id get a jump start on tommorrow so started digging into it. Im using 3" exhaust pipe and am cutting and welding any and all angles. I have a donaldson snorkel head which i can hopefully replace/trade with the ram air head. Ive got one shot for now and be uploading progress pics as they come tommorrow. Im SIKED

Nice!!! Looks good!

Thanks! I pressure test everything and not a leak to be found. Can't wait for the ram air head

My main concern was getting it out from behind the bumper, shes already takin a couple gulps, not any more!

Funny thing is, I believe its too small. They sell a larger one this style but this isn't what I ordered. I ordered the ram air head. The website had the Donaldson with ram air picture. I'm more concerned with mud and water than sucking up dust and dirt.... I'm always the head of the pack. Everyone eats my dust.

One thing that concerns me with this head is, if you tighten it any where beyond somewhat snug you pull in the lid tighter as to where you pull in less air. So I can't even tighten to point where someone can't tamper with it by hand with out bogging my motor. The ram air will give me steady feed through a 3" pipe. As well as help with water

It rained this morning and seems to not suck up the rain while driving so that's good

Seems like the donaldson head is restricting air flow

once i replace the windshield ill likely run it to the roof and have the ram air head by then

you going straight up with it or following the door frame?

I'm going to follow the a pillar up and cut and weld the angle to make the head level

With a 7 min drive in rain coming down at a 4 out of 10 the whole inside of the donaldson head is lined with moisture, didnt fill up in the collector but is almost everywhere inside the head. I really hope this doesnt turn into a big problem and hope that the ram air head will solve this

I've seen people place the ram air head backwards in the rain to prevent it from getting in

I would do that to be safe but with the head i have now turning would be a moot point

Where did you get the snorkel topper from? I really like the look of the install.

Was there a particular reason you went with steel vs pvc for the plumbing?

I got it from 4wd.com com or something like that, jeep stuff. Thanks for the compliment! I think stage one went well. I went with steel because id rather cut and weld then use fittings, also when i get the new top and take it up the a pillar i think any angles would look nicer welded as well as the fact i can form it any way i please
